Product Description

Calcium carbonate is an extremely important inorganic salt raw material, serving as one of the most commonly used fillers in manufacturing and processing industries. It finds widespread applications in industries such as rubber, plastics, papermaking, ink, paints, construction materials, agriculture, and fruit cultivation.

Ground calcium carbonate, depending on the different grinding principles used in its production, exhibits varying particle shapes and physical properties. Its particle structure primarily consists of irregular particles, and the differences in fineness and shape contribute to variations in bulk density.

Currently, there are two main methods for industrial production of ground calcium carbonate: dry process and wet process. The dry process is mainly employed for industries such as rubber, plastics, and coatings, while the wet process is more suitable for papermaking. Our factory adopts the former method, the "dry production process."

Given the diverse and distinctive characteristics of various calcium carbonate products, users can select the most suitable specifications based on their application environment or individual needs to achieve the desired outcomes.

Raw Materials

  • Natural Limestone Lump

Process Overview

  • Natural limestone is mechanically ground and crushed to different fineness levels, producing ground calcium carbonate (CaCO3). This form of calcium carbonate is known as ground calcium carbonate, abbreviated as GCC. Its quality is determined by the quality of the natural limestone and the fineness of the grinding process.

Product Features

  • Fine particle size, with particles primarily ranging from micrometers to tens of micrometers.
  • High whiteness and excellent color properties.
  • Good flowability of the product with low oil absorption.
  • Main particle structure consists of irregular granules.

Applications

  • Used in industrial products such as rubber and plastics: Calcium carbonate is utilized as a filler material. In the rubber industry, it is widely used in products like tires, tapes, hoses, and rubber components. In plastics, it finds applications in various plastic products such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS), ABS, nylon, and more. Calcium carbonate can be used both as a standalone reinforcement filler and in combination with other fillers like carbon black, white carbon black, clay, titanium dioxide, etc., to achieve semi-reinforcement, filling, color adjustment, improvement in processing and product performance, reduction of rubber content, or substitution of expensive white fillers.
  • Used in paint products: Synthetic resin paints, glazes, oil-based paints, emulsion paints, primers.
  • Used in agriculture and animal husbandry: Soil improvement, agricultural crop protection and enhancement agents, as well as additives for fertilizers and animal feed.
  • Used in daily-life products: Toothpaste, tooth powder, eco-friendly garbage bags, etc.

Packaging

  • 25 kg woven bags
  • 1000 kg bulk bags
