Nano-grade Precipitated Calcium Carbonate

model Nano-grade Precipitated Calcium Carbonate

Product Description

Modified Nanoscale Calcium Carbonate enhances the performance of plastic products:

• Appearance is a fine, ultra-white powder synthesized through chemical reactions.
• Stable particle shape with minimal impurities and high whiteness.
• Possesses reinforcing properties with the main particle structure being cubic spheres.
• Average particle size ranges from tens of nanometers (20nm to 200nm).

Modified nanoscale calcium carbonate plays a crucial role in improving plastic product performance:

• Volume filling effect: Nanoscale calcium carbonate exhibits excellent modification and reinforcement capabilities, allowing for an increase in filler content by 30% to 50%, effectively reducing costs.
• Toughening effect: It has a significant impact on notch impact strength and flow viscosity during blending.
• Enhances plastic stability, hardness, and rigidity, thereby improving processing efficiency and heat resistance. It also improves plastic light scattering, scratch resistance, and smoothness while enhancing the transparency, toughness, waterproofing, and anti-aging properties of plastic films.

Raw Materials Used

  • Natural Limestone Lump
  • Coke (Carbon)
  • Surfactant (Surface-Active Agent)

Process Overview

  • High-quality, purified limestone is selected and washed. It is then subjected to calcination at 1100°C, resulting in the decomposition of limestone into calcium oxide (CaO).
  • The resulting calcium oxide is mixed with clean and pure water (H2O), leading to the formation of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) emulsion.
  • After refining and purifying the emulsion, temperature and concentration are adjusted. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is introduced to induce a reaction that produces calcium carbonate (CaCO3) emulsion.
  • The emulsion undergoes chemical activation and homogenization surface treatment using agents.
  • Dehydration, drying, and grinding processes follow. Air classification and magnetic separation are employed to remove minute impurities.
  • The final product is packaged.

Product Features

  • Extremely fine particles, mainly ranging from tens to hundreds of nanometers in size.
  • Excellent flowability, high specific surface area, and low oil absorption.
  • High whiteness, impurity-free, and high dispersibility.
  • Optimal surface treatment depending on different applications.
  • Spherical crystalline structure with stable size.

Applications

  • Nanoparticulate colloidal calcium carbonate is a commonly used functional reinforcing filler in manufacturing and processing industries.
  • It finds widespread use in industries such as rubber, plastics, inks, paints, papermaking, adhesives, and sealants.
