Ultra-fine Talcum Powder

model Ultra-fine Talcum Powder

Product Description

Talcum powder is a fine white or off-white powder that feels lubricating to the touch, odorless, and tasteless. It is not easily soluble in water, dilute mineral acids, or dilute hydroxide solutions. Its raw material, talc, is a hydrous magnesium silicate mineral with a layered structure, scientifically known as hydrated magnesium silicate or hydrous magnesium silicate, with a molecular formula of (3MgO-4SiO2-H2O).

Talcum powder possesses characteristics such as dry lubrication, low hardness, high melting point, good electrical and thermal insulation, minimal expansion and contraction, high dispersibility, excellent covering power, good oil absorption and hydrophobicity, low coefficient of friction, chemical stability, and resistance to acid and alkali corrosion. Because of these properties, it finds widespread use in various industries such as rubber, plastics, papermaking, chemicals, paints, ceramics, cables, as well as cosmetic, food, pharmaceutical applications, and more.

Raw Material

  • Natural Talc

Process Overview

  • Natural talc ore is carefully selected and purified.
  • It is then processed using a unique air jet mill to achieve different levels of fineness, resulting in high-purity talc powder.
  • The quality of the talc powder is determined by both the quality of the natural talc and the fineness of its grinding.

Product Features

  • It is a white, fine powder with no sand-like texture. It possesses a layered crystalline structure with a tendency to split into flakes and exceptional lubricity.
  • It has fire resistance, acid and alkali resistance, insulation properties, chemical inertness, good covering power, high gloss, strong adsorption capacity, and excellent dispersibility.
  • The product's quality is high, and it can be selected based on requirements such as fineness, specific surface area, apparent density, and hue (whiteness).

Applications

  • In Paints and Coatings: Commonly used as a white pigment in various water-based, oil-based, and industrial paints, primers, protective coatings, copperplate paper coatings, etc.
  • In Industries such as Rubber, Cables, and Plastics: Used as a filler to reduce costs by replacing some of the more expensive rubber materials. It also improves processing properties in rubber and plastic resin molding, extrusion, and injection molding. Frequently used in rubber fillers, anti-sticking agents for rubber products, cable insulators, or as fillers for polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), nylon, and polyester plastics.
  • In Ceramic Products: Employed in the manufacturing of high-frequency ceramics, various industrial ceramics, architectural ceramics, daily-use ceramics, and ceramic glazes.
  • In Waterproofing Materials: Used in waterproof membranes, waterproof coatings, waterproof ointments, or as a filling material in roofing products such as roofing felts, roofing papers, asphalt shingles, and roof panels. Also used as an anti-sticking agent for roofing materials.
  • In Papermaking: Enhances paper brightness, opacity, and ink and pigment adsorption capacity. Due to its low hardness and abrasion resistance, it causes less wear on papermaking and printing equipment. Often used as a filler, coating, and resin control agent in various paper and paperboard products.
  • In Cosmetics: Used in various cosmetic products like moisturizing powders, beauty powders, body powders, loose powders, compact powders, eyeshadows, blushes, and face creams.
